Hidden Data: 10 Places Google Earth is Hiding From Us

Google Earth has scoured the globe, mapping every single tree. Yet there are some places you may notice are a big blurry, or whited out. What are these places?

It also makes you wonder, if Google is hiding data from us, who else is? And on the other end, what data is being unintentionally leaked?

10. Shamsi Airfiled, Pakistan

9. Severnaya Zemlya, Russia

  •       This uninhabited archipelago is whited out on Google. The funny thing is, its presence was never even recorded until the 20th century; despite it being visible from the mainland.

8. Military Sites, Taiwan

7. The U.S./Mexico Border, Texas, U.S.

  •        The border has been edited by Photoshop, so it does not provide any assistance to those engaged in the drug trade.

6. Marcoule Nuclear Plant, France

5. Volkel Air Base, The Netherlands

  •        Although you may not expect it, The Netherlands are actually notorious for censoring their maps.

4. Portlaoise Prison, Ireland

3. Michael AAF Building, Utah, U.S.

2. Mysterious Square, Spain

  •        Bing and Yahoo also hide the square. Some people say it is merely a helipad, while others suggest it is a missile silo.

1. HAARP Government Research Facility, Alaska

  •        This place is the center of a worldwide controversy. It has been blamed for inhibiting global mind control and natural disasters- specifically that it caused the floods in Pakistan and the Haiti Earthquake.
